Local Art Installations at 19 Dutch
“Beauty is a promise of happiness.”
― Alain de Botton, The Architecture of Happiness
One of the first things you notice when walking into 19 Dutch is the reception area and striking front desk. Commissioned by a local artist, the unique juxtaposition of traditional delftware honors Manhattan’s Old Dutch history while offering a modern interpretation within each blue-and-white tile.
This unique theme sets the tone for remaining spaces, from elevator cabs and conference room walls, to the resident lounge and the fitness room. Residents enjoy moments of contemporary watercolor, scratchboard illustrations, and acrylic paintings throughout the building, where locally sourced art surrounds residents with beauty and complements the exterior of the evocative new high-rise in FiDi.
