New Year’s Eve Events in NYC
December 28, 2018
New York is where everyone wants to be on New Year’s Eve. From your home in the luxury apartments in lower Manhattan, you can access the best events taking place throughout the island this year. There are far too many to name, but these locations are some of the top-rated in all of NYC.
The Dream Downtown New Year’s Eve
Located in the Meatpacking District, this boutique hotel is hosting an enormous party on the 31st. Managed by the same people who own Marquee, Lavo, and PHD, you know this is going to be one outstanding event.
The ballroom boasts 5,000 square feet of dance floor illuminated by a state-of-the-art lighting system while DJ Chuckie’s exclusive hip-hop set booms through an equally impressive sound system. The premium bar is open until 12:30, there’s a champagne toast at midnight, and plenty of party favors to go around.
Early bird tickets start at $109 with multiple guest VIP packages available from $1,000 and up. Ultra and Platinum VIP tickets are also available, as well as afterparty admission for just $30 more.
Times Square All Access Pass
Times Square is notoriously difficult to navigate on New Year’s Eve, but the All Access Pass solves the tedium of watching the ball drop in person. Instead of standing in the freezing cold for hours, you can gain front-of-the-line access to numerous party venues with live DJs. The pass also gives you free food and drinks from premium bars for the night.
Tickets depend on the time you want to arrive, The Ball Drop Party Pass is $189 for 9 p.m., $199 for 8 p.m., and $219 for 7 p.m. There’s also a dinner and ball drop pass, starting at 8, that costs $249.
Copacabana New Year’s Eve
Why not spend your night at the largest nightclub in Times Square? Copacabana’s three floors will be filled with lights, drinks, and music ranging from hip-hop to EDM. With six different DJs, the party is ready to go on all night.
A buffet is available to all guests from 9-11 p.m., with hors d’oeuvre platters served table-side to Silver through Diamond ticket holders. The premium bar is open from 8 to midnight, with a champagne toast when the ball drops. Regular bars stay open until 4 a.m.
General admission is $89, with various VIP-level packages ranging from $159 to $249. Couple’s VIP tables cost $699, and there’s even a stage VIP table for 12 or more at the price of $4,000. Opting for a VIP ticket also gives you access to the rooftop throughout the night.
The Williamsburg Hotel
This intimate, chic spot offers eight stories and 150 rooms with some of the most artistically inspired architecture around. On the 31st, the Williamsburg Hotel provides a relaxing respite from the hectic streets of the city. Enjoy dinner, masterfully crafted cocktails, and an upscale environment in this elegant Brooklyn locale.
Tickets start at $50, with prices going up based on the number of people in your party. While reserving a table costs a little more per-person than general admission, it’s well worth it if you have a date night or friend’s night out planned.
Madame Tussauds’ Times Square New Year’s Eve
For one night only, Madame Tussauds offers you the chance to celebrate the New Year with exquisite wax sculptures of your favorite celebrities. While enjoying a cocktail from the open bar, get your picture taken with Miley Cyrus, Michael Jackson, and hundreds of other celebrities. The new Superhero exhibit will even get you up close and personal with Marvel icons like The Hulk.
A live DJ will play top dance hits throughout the night as you tour this unique museum. Tickets start at just $99, with VIP seating and an inside view of the ball drop available. For an extra $50, you can tack on a dinner at Dallas BBQ.
District Social boasts beautiful wood trimmings, hardwood floors, and a retro-style décor as one of the area’s most premier bars. All three levels are open to the public this New Year’s Eve starting at the main room all the way up to the VIP-only Mezzanine. The private downstairs level is also open for specific tickets.
Bottle service and mixers are served tableside with an open bar until midnight and a champagne toast when the ball drops. Coat check is provided at the door for an additional charge, as well. Mezzanine tickets come with additional bottles. Tickets range from $60 to $349 depending on the size of your party and VIP options. Admission after 12:30 is an additional $20.
NYE at Bar 13
Bar 13 has been one of Union Square’s best hotspots since 1996, and for good reason. Not only does it offer ample dancing and lounge space on its two floors, there’s also a rooftop bar with breathtaking views of the city. The bar will feature a five-hour open bar special, hors d’oeuvres, and a champagne toast at midnight this New Year’s Eve.
Enjoy hours of dancing with two surprise DJs as well as party favors. The countdown to 2019 takes place on the rooftop deck, making for one memorable occasion. Tickets range from $79 to $1,995 with multi-guest VIP options available. For an extra $29, you can continue the party after 12:30.
